"Live Bravely" - How to Find Yourself in the Face of the Huge Challenges of Adolescence

The animated film "Live Bravely" by Czech director Kristina Dufková, which has attracted attention at international film festivals, will reach Lithuanian audiences in cinemas from April 11. The animation, created in a unique "stop-motion" style, is a sensitive, playful and at the same time very relevant story about twelve-year-old Ben, who tries to remain himself in a world where he is constantly reminded that he is "different".

Ben is a chubby, kind-hearted boy who faces bullying at school, pressure to look good, and the challenges of his parents' divorce. Ben finds solace in food, music, and dreams. He has a loyal friend, Eric, and is secretly in love with a girl who sees him with her heart, not her eyes.

The film captivates not only with its content, but also with its visual solution. The characters' shapes are intentionally distorted - giant eyes, crooked heads, blown-out hairstyles - perfectly convey the strangeness of the teenage world and the pains of growth. The "stop-motion" technique, combined with a stylish, non-trivial aesthetic, draws you into an exceptional cinematic experience.
The Lithuanian version of the film was dubbed by professional actors, including Vaidas Baumila, Algirdas Dainavičius, Jurgis Damaševičius, Ainis Ivanovas, Gabrielė Malinauskaitė-Rudzienė, Jurgis Damaševičius, Simonas Storpirštis, Neringa Varnelytė, Edita Zizaitė and others.

Although the original version of the film was made in Czech, the work has a universal message that needs neither geographical nor cultural explanations - it is a story about each of us trying to find our place in the world.

"Live Boldly" is not just a film about weight or bullying. It is a warm, sensitive and humorous story about a child who learns to love himself. A film that inspires and encourages acceptance of others - and yourself - without prejudice.
