Kaunas Film Center "Romuva" is expanding the offer of educational activities for educators and students - three new experiential film educations for different age groups can now be found in the Culture Passport. These educations invite you to get to know cinema not only as a story on the screen, but also as an experience of sensations, creativity and cooperation, in which sound, light and imagination become important.
Sound workshop
In the education "Sound Workshops", intended for students in grades 4-9, participants discover how sound in cinema creates atmosphere, changes mood and helps tell a story. During practical sessions, students create their own soundtrack for a specially selected film excerpt, using everyday objects, musical instruments and their own voice. During the session, they are introduced to foley - the art of creating live sound, which allows you to sound both real and fantastic worlds, and provides an opportunity to look at cinema from an unexpected, behind-the-scenes perspective.

Light Laboratory
The “Light Laboratory” for students in grades 3–8 invites them to explore the significance of light in film and visual storytelling. During the education, participants learn how lighting helps create emotion, highlight details, or even change the perception of a story. In the practical part, students take their own photos, experiment with different lighting angles, color filters, and discover how even small changes in light can fundamentally transform an image. This is a creative and research-based experience that encourages visual thinking and the courage to experiment.

Audiobook
The educational activity "Sound Book" for the youngest participants - preschoolers and students in grades 1-4 - invites them to discover that stories can be told without words. In this activity, children explore how various sounds are created from simple materials such as paper, and how rustling, rubbing or folding can turn into the sounds of rain, wind or nature. In the creative part, students create their own sound books, the pages of which "speak" through sound, stimulating imagination, hearing and the ability to tell stories with the senses.

All three educations are focused on experiential learning and active student engagement. They not only introduce the basics of film language, but also develop creativity, concentration, critical thinking and collaboration skills. These are fun, engaging and meaningful cultural experiences that are easily integrated into the educational process and complement formal education with a lively, practical experience.
All three educations are now available for booking through Culture Passport, so educators are invited to plan student trips and discover cinema as an open, creative, and inspiring learning space.
