On March 20, at 9:30 a.m., Kaunas Cinema Center "Romuva" will host a screening of the film "Danka" from the "Kino pavasaris" festival program for students in grades 7-12 and a meeting with the film's director Dovile Gasiūnaite and producer Artūras Dvinelis.
This is not just a movie screening, but also a meaningful educational experience that encourages open conversation about adolescence, responsibility, emotional maturity, and family roles.
About the movie
Being an adult is hard. Especially hard when you are only fifteen years old. Danutė is the only “adult” in her family. It is obvious that this is too difficult a task for a teenager. She faces external limitations on her abilities every day. Such a child measures everything in terms of “survival” and takes responsibility as a way to survive. N-13
Meeting with creators
After the screening, there will be a discussion with director Dovila Gasiūnaite and producer Artūras Dvinelis. The creators will talk about the circumstances of the film's creation, creative decisions, working with the actors, and answer questions from students.
Dovilė Gasiūnaitė studied acting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and film directing at the international class of FAMU in Prague. She has made several short films and worked as a casting director for various Lithuanian films. Since 2003, she has participated in the North by Northwest film production courses and the Ateliers d'Angers master classes led by Jeanne Moreau. Her debut feature film is "Narcizas", and her second is "Danka".
