Cinema club for young people - we invite you to the open day!

Kaunas film center "Romuva" invites young people aged 10-14 to get to know the art of cinema better at weekly meetings. The film club will appeal to everyone who is interested in what film art is, how short animated and feature films are made, and those who want to try their hand at filmmaking.

The first meeting is on October 2. 15:30 p.m. - a free open-door day, where familiarization games, cinema illusion education will await you, during which we will test optical devices that create the illusion of movement, make thaumatropes, inspect the "most secret" places of the cinema - the cinema operator's room and the exclusive symbol of "Romuva" - the turret.

The participants of the group will learn the most interesting facts of the history of cinema and try such devices as the praxinoscope, phenakistoscope and zoetrope. Will visit the cinema spaces that are not visible to moviegoers - the cinema's operating room and the recognizable symbol of the "Romuva" Cinema Center - the tower. They will write scripts for their own cartoons, try out puppet animation using V. Starevičius-inspired animation puppets of a deer and a ladybug, and Č. Chaplin animation doll.

In addition to making short films, participants can enjoy fun film brainstorming sessions, private group-only film screenings and lots of film talks.

Intended for children and youth aged 10-14.
