Head of Educational Programs Gailė Janulevičė recently returned from Bologna, where she participated in the international training Workshop Warehouse 27, organized by the European Children's Film Association (ECFA) and Cineteca di Bologna, on June 29-2025. This is the second such event, which brought together 56 film education professionals from 21 European countries, who participated in practical workshops over two and a half days, shared experiences, and together looked for new ways to inspire young filmgoers.
"This experience has become not only a professional growth, but also a strong creative impetus. Being among so many creative, dedicated people has allowed me to look at film education in a completely new way.", – shares Gailė.

Workshop Warehouse is a hands-on event where participants actively participate in the workshops, experiment, discuss, and create. Gailė chose several different workshops that reflected the most relevant directions in film education today, from sound design to alternative filmmaking methods.
"Each workshop provided very specific ideas – both new methods and a completely different approach. The experiences gained will open new directions in our educations for the upcoming season", – says Gailė.

The value of such training goes beyond professional development. According to the organizers, their aim is to promote cooperation and international networking, especially in a field such as film education, which is often marginalized. ECFA President Pantelis Panteloglou emphasized that film and media education is an essential tool to help young people navigate the modern media world.
"I realized how many untapped possibilities lie within the cinematic experience itself – from sound to movement, from installations to individual emotional connection. I want to bring all of this to our cinema.", – shares Gailė.

In the upcoming season, we will present new educational programs at the Romuva Cinema, born from the experiences and inspiration gained in Bologna. We will invite groups of students of various ages to discover the world of cinema through new, creative, experiential activities. This season, we will seek not only to expand the educational offer, but also to look at it with a new perspective - more sensitive, relevant and more engaging for young viewers.
