Writer Nikolė (Sanda Codreanu) lives in one of the apartments of Marseille, exhausted by the heat. She suffers from creative stagnation, as she is unable to write her first novel. Her roommate and best friend, Rubi (Souheila Yacoub), is the complete opposite: stylish, online sexist, sleeping with whoever she wants, whenever she wants. Both of them are unexpectedly visited by a third friend - Elise (Noémie Merlant), a beautiful drama queen and actress who ran away not only from the film set, but also from her husband. Three friends are at their best on the sunny balcony: they watch the neighbors, pull them by the teeth and look down at the handsome man who lives right in front of them. When he invites you to his place, the fun suddenly turns into blood clans. That's when the true test of solidarity between friends begins, reminiscent of Pedro Almodóvar's early colorful films about women on the verge of a nervous breakdown who decide to avenge the wrongs done by men.
This punk fairy tale, an uncompromising, grotesque, surreal horror-comedy with elements of fantasy, was directed by the famous French actress Noémie Merlant (Paris: 13th arrondissement) and co-wrote the screenplay with director Céline Sciamma (Portrait of a Woman on Fire). It is clear that this time both creators decided to have fun. As Merlant said, comedy and satire are powerful weapons.
