Returning to Lithuania after twenty years, director Gediminas Gutauskas is preparing to make a film about the "Lietūkios" massacre. Obsessed with global surveillance, the NKVD is watching not only Gediminas, whose film script depicts the massacres surprisingly realistically, but also his childhood friend Andrii Gluosnis and his beloved Elena. Based on the short story "Izaokas" by Antanas Škėmas, the film tells about guilt, revenge, love, people's lives destroyed by the war, and touches on the important and uncomfortable topic of Lithuanian participation in the Holocaust.
