Together with the Kaunas City Municipality Public Health Office, we encourage you to get to know yourself better through film. During this screening, we will watch the comedic drama "True Pain", which talks about historical memory, family ties and touches on the issue of suicide. After the screening, we will invite you to discuss the film, its themes and the emotions it evokes with psychologist Giedrė Starkevičiūtė.
Estranged American cousins David and Benji take a trip to Poland together to honor their beloved late grandmother. Once as close as Siamese twins, the cousins now hardly tolerate each other. The journey takes an unexpected turn when tensions between the cousins rise to the surface against the background of their family's horrific history.
The emotional and comedic drama Real Pain became an official selection of the BFI London Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival and the 62nd New York Film Festival.
The activities of the project are organized by the public health office of the Kaunas City Municipality, implementing the activities of the Kaunas City Suicide Prevention Model.
