End of summer. Thirty-year-old Danielius returns to his hometown. Danielius has lived in Norway for more than a decade and has everything there – a job, family, friends. However, after his father dies, he has to return to Lithuania to sell his childhood home. In a small resort town, he feels like he is in a temporary refuge.
He quickly realizes that everything has changed. As he encounters familiar places, old friends, and lingering memories, Daniel feels a quiet loneliness, but he doesn't resist it - he chooses to explore. He immerses himself in the town one last time before letting it go.
"The Guest" is the highly anticipated first feature-length film by Vytautas Katkus after successful short films. Immediately after its world premiere at the prestigious Karlovy Vary Film Festival, this debut earned the director the Best Director award. In 2026, at the National Film Awards "Silver Crane", the film was awarded three awards - for Best Feature Film, Best Direction and Best Screenplay, which Vytautas Katkus created together with Marija Kavtaradze.
