The nature of love

Original language: French

Simple like Sylvain

Forty-year-old Sofi is a philosophy professor who has been living with her partner Xavier for ten years. Her life is constant visits to exhibitions and their openings, long dinners with equally educated friends. But she meets Sylvain, who agrees to renovate her and Xavier's country house, and the woman's life turns upside down. Silven is a representative of the working class, and opposites attract each other, but for how long?

Although some people in Lithuania may know Monia Chokri only as an actress from Xavier Dolan's films, she has directed several films herself. The Nature of Love is Chokri's third feature as a director. The new romantic comedy is an unusual study of relationships, which playfully tells the story of social class differences and controversial left-wing intellectuals. The film premiered in Cannes.
