This biographical tape tells about the events of the 1970s and 1980s that laid the foundations for the Donald Trump that the whole world knows now.
After becoming president of his father Fred's Trump Management construction company, young Donald (Sebastian Stan) is desperate for quick and dizzying success. He knows the basic rules of business quite well, but it is impossible to find a way to suddenly rise to the desired peak.
Then he meets the crooked New York lawyer Roy Cohn (actor Jeremy Strong), who knows all the cream of New York and Washington very well. What's more, he knows very well how the system works and how to defeat it. Donald reminds the lawyer of himself in his youth: an ambitious guy hungry for power and money, who will do anything for his goal, so he takes Donald under his wing, completely unaware that his new student will become the president of America 40 years later.
