Director Celine Song (b. 1988 in South Korea) emigrated to Canada as a teenager, and in 2014 entered Columbia University in New York to study drama. Both the debut play of this artist for the theater and the script of the first feature-length feature are based on her own biography. Past Lives premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlinale.
