Hank Thompson was once a promising athlete. Now he's an alcoholic bartender at a seedy New York bar. True, the guy doesn't complain too much: he has a loving girlfriend, Yvonne, he's not homeless, and he doesn't really need much else.
But when neighbor Russ asks to take care of his cat for a few days, the kind-hearted Hank agrees once again. Of course, he soon regrets it. It turns out that this is no ordinary cat, but one with a secret. A secret worth about four million dollars.
Hank is being pursued one after another by some rather strange and completely unfriendly characters. The only problem is that Hank has no idea why he suddenly becomes the most wanted guy in town.
