Program: News from the North
Young environmental scientist Elias falls in love with rising singer Anita. However, when a menacing fissure opens in the seabed, the boy begins to be tempted by career opportunities and the ambition to save humanity. Choosing a profession instead of love, he goes on a mission to investigate a strange natural phenomenon that threatens the survival of humanity. As he ventures into the ocean to patch a mysterious crack, he begins to wonder what if he had made a different decision. In "Eternity", the director juxtaposes the drama of love and repentance with a social commentary on society's passivity in the face of climate change.
Ulaa Salim graduated from the Danish National Film School, creates films based on personal experiences. Salim's first films "Our Father's Son" and "Denmark's Son" were presented at the Rotterdam Film Festival. The themes of "Eternity" extend the director's first films.
