After burying his wife, Andrew Blake plunges into apathy: he no longer wants anything, is no longer interested in anything and does not communicate with anyone. The thought of going to France - to the mansion where he met his beloved - pulls him out of his stupor. After packing his suitcase, Andrew embarks on a journey that, no doubt, will turn out completely differently than he imagines.
Arriving at the mansion where his love story began, Andrew imagines that he will live here as a guest. However, the very next morning it turns out that the manor housekeeper supported him as a job-seeking butler. Now, in order to stay in his rented room and the estate in general, Andrew is forced to don the livery and settle into the role of butler, at least for a "trial period".
Interacting with the strange and somewhat eccentric (but no less charming) manor owner Natalya, opinionated cook Odile, stubborn manor Philip and housekeeper Manon, Mr. Blake slowly realizes that no one has yet escaped the blows of fate and that the new his acquaintances in life are just as lost as he is. What's more, a person who, after the death of his wife, no longer expected anything from life, will simply be forced to start a new life.
