Sirat

A vital cinematic tale, a captivating rave spirit.

At one of the music festivals, Luis (played by actor Sergi López) joins the commune with his son Esteban and his dog Pipa. He is looking for his missing daughter. As he travels deeper and deeper into the burning wilderness with an alternative community that seeks to forget itself, the hero experiences shocking trials. “Sirat” in Islamic tradition means a path or bridge – thinner than a hair and sharper than the sharpest sword. Its purpose is to connect the Last Judgment with Paradise or to separate the latter from Hell. In this film, the bridge stretches between Morocco and Mauritania, and below, instead of the flames of Hell, the Sahara Desert burns your feet. The film captivates with both its images and the music of techno creator Kangding Ray, which shakes, caresses, and sometimes takes you on a journey with no return.

Produced by the Almodóvar brothers, the film premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize. The film received two Oscar nominations, for Best International Feature Film and Best Sound.

The film is shown in the Chamber Hall with surround sound, using the certified Dolby Atmos system, which allows sound to be precisely positioned in space, creating an immersive, spatial cinematic experience.
