Kaunas, 1941. Fifteen-year-old Lina Vilkaitė is full of dreams. She wants to study art, vacation by the sea, go on a date with the guy she likes. But on the night of June 14, knocks on the door shattered all dreams. Lina, her young brother and mother were crammed into the animal car of the train. And taken to Siberia with thousands of other Lithuanians. The girl's father says the last words to Lina: "Draw what you see." And Lina draws. It becomes a diary of pain, hunger, cold, Soviet brutality and unbearable living conditions in Siberia. And also - people's kindness to each other, first love and undying hope to survive. Human strength against cruel fate.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Rūta Šepetys, an American writer of Lithuanian origin.
