Teresa: Before becoming a saint

1948, Calcutta. Young Sister Teresa (act. N. Rapace) – ambitious, strict and tormented by inner doubts, the headmistress of the prestigious St. Mary's School lives behind the high walls of the convent, in a safe world. But inside she is "burning" – she is suffocated by rules, luxury in the midst of poverty and, most importantly, the deafening silence of God. It is becoming increasingly difficult for her to teach rich girls, while right here, behind the high gates, people are dying in terrible poverty on the streets. Teresa decides to take a step that could cost her everything – she asks the Vatican for permission to leave the order and help the poor.
