Seeing Hitler's rapid and frightening progress, the British army decides to put its gentlemanly nature on short leave and plans an operation of insane courage and audacity behind enemy lines. Its command is entrusted to Gustav "Gas" March-Philips, a great soldier, but a man with a short, sharp temper and possibly a couple of screws in his head. After listening to the plan, Gus just nods, pours a whiskey, gathers a compact team of colleagues who are just as crazy as him, and sets out to complete the task.
Director Guy Ritchie (Spy from UNCLE, Thieves, RocknRolla) tells the story based on true events in his characteristic style, which also hides another incredible coincidence: the operation also involves a private British soldier named Ian Flemming. Who knows - if it weren't for the events depicted in this film, maybe the world wouldn't even know such a character as James Bond?
