in 1970 Sims Kudirka jumped from a Soviet ship to a US Coast Guard boat and requested political asylum. Returned and imprisoned, Sims received massive international support, thousands of demonstrations were held for his release, and even two US presidents decided his fate. These events caused the greatest political upheaval during the Cold War. Fifty years later, Sim Kudirka returns to the American ship "Vigilant" to relive the jump that changed his destiny.
